My wife is in JB for 2 nights and I cannot take it. I miss her so much. We talked just now and feels like we were dating. We're at 2 different places and talking on the phone. I have been sleeping with her by my side ever since we got married.

Wow it's been more than half a yr since we last updated this blog. Anyway here's an update... We booked the venue for our wedding celebration! We took about 1 month plus to research and think about the date, theme and dream venue we wanted. We had a particular first choice right at the beginning, but due to some constraints (like min no. of tables and budget), we tried looking at many others.. Amongst them are Mandarin Orchard, Crowne Plaza, Fairmont and Conrad (for lunch)...

Thank God pupu came across online this wedding showcase and on that very day, we went down to take a look and fell in love with the place again, signed up right away after negotiated a few important perks and criteria.. Yes it's our first choice Intercontinental Singapore! It will be a wedding lunch on 9 December 2012 Sunday! Nope we did not go for any fengshui check on the date, just find it comfortable to have a 9 digit which means eternity in chinese.. and as well as we wanted December and a Sunday. so this date fits us perfectly! :)

Have booked our bridal package with La Belle Couture shortly after confirming on the venue.. Basically we were looking for a more service oriented studio, rather than 1 that gives loads of perks but by hard-selling.. We didn't visit like many many BS, but went into a few where we have heard much about the shops. Visited My Dream Wedding, Cang Ai and Rico A Mona.. The reason why we chose La Belle is cos of the total package they are able to provide. Reasonably priced (based on market rate) package that includes wedding show perks (although we signed up 2 days before their wedding show at Orchard hotel)... Photoshoot includes 5 gowns & looks, and I can choose from their designer/new collection as well for actual day. Saw a couple of albums they produced and we like them.. Most importantly, we did nt feel pressured about signing up cos there was no hard selling and there was plenty of advice from Candy (the coordinator, who will be my MUA as well) about the types of gowns and designs suitable for me.. as well as letting me try them before I make a decision. Pupu was rather ok with anything as long as I am happy with it.. Thank God! :)

Very happy that we can now start to prepare and save more money for our dream wedding.. Glad that major stuff are settled for now.. Next is slimming down liaoo :p

It was a fun and most meaningful day for us.. Our ROM Solemnisation on 8 Jan 2011 and My Humble House, Esplanade :) We r still awaiting fotos from our photographer but for now, here's some eye candy shots from my dad-in-law's nikon and my iPhone :)

Above is a snapshot of the fabrics we went to get.. im so excited about the polka dots tulle netting veil fabric for the outer layer of the skirt portion of my dress.. and the plain tulle netting for the sleeves (double layer).. omg they look really princessy and bridal... :) Can't wait for mum to make the final product and let me try it on soon!! :D

We booked our flat!! :) we'll stay at the 12th floor, corner unit... Interestingly n surprisingly, i had a sudden chg of mind when we reached there.. Ive been wanting my first choice n it wasnt taken up yet... N when i looked at the model again, i settled for my 3rd choice. Pupu was so nice, he said he's fine as long as i like it.. :) luv him!

Loving the layers in a dress... that's what i dreamt of having for mine.. good news, me and mum will be visiting chinatown and arab street very soon to find fabrics for my dress! hee....

I love the bride's hair, a little bit of sides drawn up to the back and some simple wave-like curls at the ends... totally heart this style. simplicity is bliss..

i have to admit that this hairstyle looks very pretty too! but i think it looks good only on blondes. Anyway, i love the back view of the bride.. that's what im gona have my dress too.. a slightly lower back... :)

Actually to some people, they may find me making such huge efforts on details for our ROM (and yes to some it's "just an ROM"....) But i feel that i am happy doing what i am doing.. bcos every girl deserves a beautiful and memorable ROM solemnisation or Wedding... :) Anyways, not like there's alot of costs involved, because we find fun doing much DIY efforts in the preparation... hee..

They say "NO of cos not!".... and they even wana wear color matching dresses that day to complement my dress... Aren't they so cute? Just to share the lovely engagement gifts these people gave me..

My mum got me a diamond cross pendant with white gold necklace.. She hopes that Jesus will be with me close to my heart, and forever. I will wear it on my solemnisation day :) Thanks so much mum, i love it alot :)

And just recently, pupu's mum (my future mother-in-law) bought me a pair of diamond earrings as an engagement gift as well. i am very thankful to have such sweet mil. she wanted to give me a bracelet but i don't wear it cos i never think it looks good on my chubby wrist.. haha.. so i chose earrings instead..

Here is one photo i took using my iPhone.. not on a proper box but i think they look very beautiful together. Again, im actually very lucky to receive such pretty and expensive gifts just for my ROM.. Thank God for the people who love me.. They are really lovely.. ♥

Rivervale Arc

New HDB Flat? Change of mind? Nope.. at this point in time, Fernvale Foliage has only 18 units left.. And highest floor is 5th floor and facing in-wards direction.. So we decided to move our eyes on to Rivervale Arc. It is quite a dilemma for us because we really like the fact that FV is along Jalan Kayu and that the design of the blocks are much nicer than RV. But after a few days of serious re-consideration and research, both pupu and i felt tat RV is actually a better choice in terms of practicality.

Why so? Rivervale Arc is along the TPE (literally) and Sengkang East Drive, which means NO BLOCKS are blocking the flats. Or should i say no blocking on our preferred units, so wind-flowing should be better.. :p Furthermore, the units we set our eyes on, are facing Nature Reserve and Reservoir.. "Got Mountain Got Sea" hee... so we are quite happy already.. Thanks to the active forum thread and the facebook page for this estate. Anyway, our 1st choice right at the beginning was RV what.. haha...

So here's the pic we took of Rivervale Arc at the sales office..

We are looking at the 8th to 14th floor (cos thats the highest left).. Not so sensitive about numbers already.. even though all the units we prefer are 4xx or 44x... Our parents are not superstitious about it.. Don't tell me all the ppl in Singapore stay in units with digit 4 will become suay..? :x Seriously, we are not "anyhow" choosing our flat.. after many careful considerations about practicality and wind/sun directions (for practical reasons again), we decided that these are our more favorable units... So wish us luck next Friday for our selection! :D

Now I can feel the excitement ppl have when they see the land which their future new hse will be built on! :D While on the TPE, i took a few shots of the the empty land Rivervale Arc will b built on!

Let's hope that everything goes well and we can get our desired unit here, in Sengkang (the better developed new town in SG for now) hee... :)

Application for a HDB Flat!

haha why do i have so much to blog about.. oops maybe cos i dun update often n now i have the time!

okay. today pupu n i went to the HDB Hub habitat forum to look at some show flats.. we gathered some great ideas about how we wana do up the house next time.. but of cos we need to get a flat 1st rite?? hehe so we actually applied for a 4-room flat in Sengkang sometime in July.. It was the same time when Punggol Water Terrace is introduced as well.. We decided to ballot for the SK one bcos we know our chance for Punggol will b very slim as it's way over-subscribed. But the premium flats really look so attractive and location wise.. hmm so near MRT.. :p but still we decided that we don't wana waste time.. so we went ahead for the Sengkang one. since it's like in between AMK and Pasir Ris..

So in late August we receive our ballot results and our queue position is 872 out of 997 available flats! So we are within the range! very very happy :D Our number is pretty far behind but looking at the past HDB flats selection trends, not everyone will go select the flat even if they are given a number within the range. so still we are hoping to be able to select a good unit bcos we really like the Fernvale Foliage instead of Rivervale Arc (as u can choose 1 from the 2 during this exercise) The fernvale one is really near Jalan Kayu and there is a bus that goes straight to AMK. The flats there are all 4-room n 5-room so the blocks look better than the Rivervale one.. plus, RV one is really at the end of the rivervale flats.. so we dun think we prefer that area..

Anyway, here is the 3D estate model of the Fernvale Foliage we are aiming for.. only 300plus 4-room flats for this... Rivervale Arc has 600+... hmm.. Anyway our flat selection date is on 22 Oct so we shall see if we can get a good unit then... we also gotta start thinking about roughly which area we need to do major reno works so that we can inform HDB during the appt, on the flooring and wall tiles... bcos pupu's mum said when u get the contractor to hack down walls or remove the tiles which HDB already gives u, u actually need to pay removal fees..

Just now I was chatting with 1 of my good friend, Jane about the flat in SK and how nice it would be when they can come over to do nails in my exclusive nail room or for dinner cook by my hubby or just for a mahjong session.. cos she stays in Punggol and another good friend Hazel might also get a flat around our area cos her bf nw stays in punggol too.. so im really looking forward to that 5 years later... :D :D not sure about tracia's housing plans yet but still it's not too far away from AMK! :p we can just pop opposite for some prata at Jalan Kayu at nite if we are hungry n hubby dun wana cook supper for us.. HAHAHA.. ok continue to dream and all these will happen soon :) cheers!

It's time!! We finally got our couple watches and we are so happy :) Actually pupu got a baby-g which i like for a long long time for my bday (an early bday pressie...) So he got himself a g-shock too which is of same colors.. Black and Gold.. very nice.. hee...

So excited about how cool they look.. really blessed to have such a cute pupu who wants to wear couple watch with me.. hee... love him..

I am so in love with the cover, looks like an enchanted garden.. I'm making an album that contains our engagement shoot pics and we are showing it to our friends and relatives during the ROM.. I got the materials from Made With Love and Paper Market.. And I have only done up the cover.. Probably have a total of 16 pages to continue in the album.. haha and im really looking forward to beautifying the cardboard pages every now n then for the next 2 to 3 months!

Here is a close up of the album spine with a little heart-shaped "bookmark"... Loving the colors..

And this is a heart-shaped wood piece painted in rose color with a 7Gypsies cardstock sticker...the stitch around the sticker is hand-drawn with a silver colored pen.. loving those metallic color pens now!! oh n look at the AB swarovski crystals i have added...

Dun u just love scrapbooking...? Especially when u r making something with love.. :)

Wedding Bands..

Pupu and I have been looking around for wedding bands and we kinda shortlisted the final 2 pairs for selection.. The design and fitting is very important to us.. Something simple and not as thick as the usual comfort fit designs, will be v suitable for us..

1 of the 2 pairs we really like is the SK Jewellery Momento Series Wedding Bands :) I love matte and gloss rings, and of cos with diamonds! (which girl doesn't like diamonds anyway.. hee) This one is very pretty bcos of the strand of diamonds across the ring and we tried them on, feeling quite comfy.. it's over budget by $200 but we thought might as well get something we like bcos we are gonna wear it for the rest of our lives.. :p

The more preferred and favorable pair is from Soo Kee Jewellery Jac Laurent Series Wedding Bands. Picture shown below is not the exact one but it looks something like this.. We have always been looking for rings that have "stripes" (something like the centre stripe is beveled up) And of cos a little diamond in the centre for my ring will be perfect too.. So the 1 we saw and really like has a 0.09 ct diamond for the bride's ring. Pupu likes simple with a touch of style, so he really like this pair too.. It is also about $200 above budget but we are prepared to pay this extra.. We are planning to get this pair near end Sept from 313 Somerset Soo Kee Jewel Pavillion cos they have 1 new pair for our size.. and what's sweeter, when you buy wedding bands from them, they will give this pair of bears that we can use as ring holder for our ROM.. the male bear holds a little basket that has a ring cushion inside to hold our wedding bands... they are sooo cute... something different from the usual ring pillow... :)

Banded For Life

Rewind 11 months ago, it is quite unbelievable that I would be on this journey with this girl. It still seems like I'm in a dream. From our first date, first meal, first movie, first kiss and many others. Every now and then, we will find something so interesting about us like we were both born in Mount Elizabeth Hospital, we both once listened to Ultra. All these things are still fresh in my memory.

Our story is one for all of you out there who are still searching for the one out there, to keep faith and keep the hope. One fine day, when you least expect it, that somebody will just appear and change your life in a way you never knew possible.

I'm just too overwhelmed by how much DIY i can go for the ROM.. so i made this box for guestbook cards! It's a 5pc wood pack and i painted all of them in fuchsia then add on my fave My Mind's Eye glitter papers... Finally topped with pretty embellishments.. i love the way the maroon ribbon lays across the box.. :)

Decided to add on some crystals for instant bling!

And the above is not enough! i saw a birdcage door tag from someone else's blog and im v inspired too! So i got the birdcage die-cut tags by Maya Road from Made With Love. Painted it fairytale blue and have my fave polkadots my mind's eye paper as the background. Loving prima flowers all the time! I know this can't really b used for the ROM, but we can kp it at home for perfect keepsake! :)

Table Seating Stand - 1st Draft

Hello! I did a draft of the table seating stand.. this is something im working towards.. our theme will be filled with reds, browns n orange.. because these colors will stand out at humble house, our venue for the ROM.. i purposely left the bottom part empty cos i will add on some crystals n pearls or perhaps pretty prima flowers or lace as well..!! hee.. this event seems like an art n craft project for me and im enjoying it! :) maybe more to come next time..

Time passes really fast, when we were talking about it, we had like more than 6 months to go... now we are left with 4 months and 3 weeks.. yes still have some more time and it's only an ROM afterall many of u might say... but i realised that there's pretty much quite a number of things to do as well.. Actually above really sounds like a wedding minus the chinese customary stuff.. still im really excited about planning for this once-in-a-lifetime event...!! Pupu is also quite involved as he helps to follow up with the venue on the impt stuff like food, timing and additional arrangements..

Anyway, for now we are really looking forward to our 2nd trip "overseas" together after HK.. we are going to Batam for our 1 year anniversary plus my bday celebration.. We have booked a 2D1N stay at Tempat Senang after reading many good reviews about the themed boutique resort.. hope to enjoy ourselves and indulge in the spa and relax our time away from the buzzling city... and this kinda serves as a pre-rom holiday? :p we are still thinking if we shld go somewhere right after the ROM since i will be taking my marriage leave during that period..

Okay tats about all.. im actually on MC today but feel much better after a good rest... hope to update here soon! :)

Engagement Shoot 1st Batch!~

Loving the 1st Batch of edited pics.. the finishing gives u a very vintage 80s feel and makes the photos perfect memory keepsake... i actually have an idea how to present the pics to our guests during the ROM.. will print them out and make into a mini album... in scrapbook style!!~ So now i have about 4 months+ to do up the album... every week ill have something to look forward to, to DIY every little details for our solemnisation... i think the guestbook tags, cards, the event stand, the album, the table seating stand will be beautiful with all the little prima flowers, glitz and ribbons as pretty embellishments.. :)

Wow!!!

It's been a reaaalllyyy long time since we last update this little blog of ours.. anyways my laogong-to-be and i have gone for an engagement shoot by his buddy's gf Phylaine V! Actually we wanted to book Melody from OhDear to get the shoot done but i chanced upon Phylaine's facebook pics on her brother's wedding n she was the photographer for the actual day! So being excited, i whatsapp her n she offered to help us do the shoot!

We went to a couple of places n Phylaine's bf Kevin drove us around.. very very nice of them.. we climbed up to the Sunset Way railway track which has now been abandoned and we were all trembling and shaking (ok only the girls, the guys were rather daring)... After conquering (half) the railway track, we went to Wessex Rd and Portsdown Rd for some beautiful memories shots.. Phylaine quite alot of ideas so our poses and locations turn out very nice.. of cos with the works of photoshop editing, we are sure they will turn out even more amazing :)

After the expat place, we had our lunch and then quickly headed to Haji Lane for the little toy museum and then to East Coast Park. Finally our last location was Punggol and we were anxiously looking for the lalang fields.. too bad most of the lalang places are prohibited now and we could only take some shots with other shorter lalangs.. but still many shots turn out pretty :)

My first entry

Our period of courtship is now over, we now embrace a new beginning in our life, a new chapter in our story. It may have been really quick but it is definitely not a rash decision. When you're not afraid of commitment, unafraid of being tied down, you know she is the one you want to spend your life with.

This is one of the pictures from the first few days of our courtship. At that time, we're so insane over each other, we want to spend every second together. Until now, it's still as insane.

Our comfort food, everytime we're hungry or feeling down. This will fill our stomach and make us happy.

No matter at which angle, her head fits my shoulder perfectly

Now, all these will be part of our future as we work towards building it block by block. We will fill it with colours with little things along the way. There may be stumbling blocks but I am sure we will link our hands as we move forward to confront them.

He proposed!

It happened on 4 July 2010, a quiet sunday nite just below my place. I actually knew he was gonna propose around then but i didn't know how he wanted to do it.. :)

Finally when he was done with his preps, I turned and saw the brightly-lit heart shape formed using candles.. :) He's very very sweet.. at that moment i was very very bz.. bcos i took out my dslr (which i brought along tat day to take pics for our outing) and iphone and was so bz taking pics of his proposal.. i just wanted to capture the moments.. :p it was a very small and not-so-private (cos it's at my plc downstairs) proposal.. but i could see his sincerity all this while..

Anway when he asked me.. i was actually a little scared... like "really!? this is a once in a lifetime Q&A..!!" hee.. i smiled at him n i said yes :)

And then we kissed... quite usual.. but sweet....

We bought this pair of pens from HK Disneyland! Look how sweet they are.. Mickey with his little white bow tie and Minnie with her white veil and ribbon... And immediately we decided that these shall be used for our ROM when we sign the papers..!! (zandy said sign my life away.. haha oops..)

House of Sweetness and Goodness

Gary and I initially hoped for a fairytale solemnization.. so we found 2 places that could make that dream come true. But it wasn't quite practical for an ROM.. So we decided to look for more alternatives. He has attended a wedding dinner with his parents at this particular restaurant before and they find it truly unique and the food was good. And when I first stepped into that place with him and his parents, it gave me a very east-meets-west feel. We had our dinner there and I tried the food. At that moment, I knew our guests will find this place special. So now I present you, My Humble House at The Esplanade.

Here is a "sneak" pic I took of one of the dining area, and it's also the area we will hold our ROM event at. The restaurant has stated that no photography is allowed, so i took only a few pics.. :p But of course, they will allow us to have our photographer there taking pics for us during our solemnization lunch because it's our big day. We confirmed our venue with a deposit and feel relieved now that we have settled this major thing. It's gonna be a small affair with 30 immediate family members and close friends.

I actually like the glass cup they use for tea, instead of the ordinary porcelain teacups like most chinese restaurants have.. And I forgot to mention that this place is managed by Tung Lok Group. So we believe the food must be good :D And, it's opened by Sam Leong, the celebrity chef.. This wows me further.. :)

We have also invited Dr Phua Tan Tee as our solemnizer for our ROM. We are really delighted to have him to grace our once in a lifetime event. He happens to be Zandy's mum's friend, and heard he's really humorous and a very nice man. We are truly honored.

Have you heard of Style Me Pretty? They have lovely articles on inspired weddings, DIY themes and very beautiful designer dresses..

I realised I have developed this infatuation with white roses, they represent purity and innocence.. They look to me like a bunch of humility send down from heaven.. I have decided to use white roses for my solemnization..

I have already thought of what kinda dress I would love to wear on my ROM.. Definitely not a tube dress as it's really too common, in fact it's rather plain! So I would love to have something off-shoulder with a big fluffy flare bottom.. And I found this really sweet from Style Me Pretty! My seamstress mum has offered to make-to-measure my dress for the solemnization. And I think I must start to do up some sketches and designs for her. And of cos, to shop for fabrics! I think I'm really gonna enjoy the process...!!

And look what I secretly wish for..? A pair of Salvatore Ferragamo Carla pumps as my wedding shoes for the solemnization. Yes it costs like S$700 over in the boutiques. Well, it's just a wish :)

The Pupus

They say a fairytale is a story about living happily-ever-after. And now we are beginning our story just like a fairytale. Gary and I met through a friend in September 2009. We found ourselves enjoying the process of getting to know each other for a few weeks before he asked me to be his girlfriend. At that point of time, Gary was just like the prince who came and save me out of a very bad situation in my life. And I believe that I was that princess whom he was looking for a very very long time... (This is what he told me.. Hee..)

And after 8 months together, we decided to get married! Based on the simple fact that, we are never gonna be keen in finding another partner anymore and we know that each other is all we wanted. We are going to be that little couple who will share the rest of our lives together, in health and in sickness, in rich and in poor, with laughter and tears...
